ScottCare Corporation is a diversified medical company that provides diagnostic cardiac monitoring devices, software and monitoring labor services for hosptials, cardiology clinics and cardiac rehabilitation clinics in the U.S and internationally. Founded in 1989, ScottCare launched its first telemetry system for cardiopulmonary rehabilitation. Like many others in the industry, ScottCare entered the Holter monitoring market place with the acquisition of another Holter monitoring company. ScottCare acquired Rozinn Electronics, Inc., a Holter monitoring equipment company based in Glendale, NY. ScottCare compliments their line of ambulatory cardiac monitoring products with proprietary software, data integration and clinical support solutions in the diagnosis of cardiovascular disease.
ScottCare is quick to point out that they are a division of Scott Fetzer, a Berkshire-Hathaway company. Scott Fetzer is known to provide products ranging from encyclopedias, vacuums and cleaning products comprising more than 20 individual businesses.
Competitive Advantage in Holter Monitoring
ScottCare markets their products and services as being a comprehensive solution that integrates a variety of ambulatory cardiac monitoring modalities. Scottcare aims to provide their cardiac monitoring customers with a multi-function cardiovascular suite for seamless integration of their devices, software analysis and information technology. ScottCare claims to take credit for being the ‘first’ in a series of technological milestones. These include the first large color OLED display, the first to have audible and visual patient lead disconnection notifications, the first medication reminders, the first to offer adjustable pacer detection and the first to offer a Holter Monitor that records up to 21 days of continuous, 3-channel ECG data and most recently the first to offer a WiFi-based remote cardiac rhythm monitor. The ScottCare Holter recorder is called the Chroma™ Holter Recorder. In 2014, it also introduced the patient friendly novi™ patch Holter recorder which attaches to the patient with one adhesive patch (no leads) providing up to 72 hours of continuous ECG recording.
ScottCare’s Holter monitoring analysis software is called HolterCare™. The Scottcare HolterCare has many features such as an advanced analysis technique including all arrhythmic and ischemic episodes that can be edited using multi-level template editing, interactive trend editing, as well as superimposition and page mode review.
