Medtronic Launches New Mobile Cardiac Telemetry Monitor
September 15th
Medtronic Inc. announced the launch of their mobile cardiac telemetry monitoring system called the Seeq. The Seeq device was developed by Corventis and recently acquired by Medtronic in June of this year.
The Seeq is different that other Mobile Cardiac Telemetry monitors in that it is in the form of a peel & stick patch. The device monitors the heart activity and transmits abnormal ECG information to an external Medtronic laboratory in real time. The Seeq patch is designed to be worn by patients that need their heart monitored 24 hours a day for a period of up to 30 days. The ECG data is provided by the Medtronic laboratory to referring cardiology physicians.
