Philips Healthcare
Philips is one of the largest medical companies in the world. Much like GE, Philips entered the Holter Monitoring space with the acquisition of Zymed Holter Monitoring company. Zymed has a very successful record in the Holter Monitoring industry with nearly 20 years as a U.S leader. Most recently, Philips has acquired BioTelemetry / CardioNet who paved the way for Mobile Cardiac Telemetry (MCT) monitoring.
With the acquisition of BioTelemetry, Philips has expanded their reach in Holter Monitoring beyond their older Zymed Holter technology with the new ePatch. The Philips ePatch Holter Monitoring technology includes all the tools you need to record, analyze, diagnose & transmit ECG data in a reliable & rapid fashion. Phillips is known for simplifying complicated product technology for use of medical professionals of all skill levels. Their Holter Monitoring products are a great example of this perception.
Competitive Advantage in Holter Monitoring
Phillips Medical can leverage their size, success and reputation for quality products as a competitive advantage over the competition. Philips touts the reliability of their Holter devices plus leverages the accuracy of their Zymed Holter Analysis software program. Further, Phillips offers a stable Holter Monitoring platform with seamless integration into most all Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems as well as Hospital Information Systems (HIS). Phillips Medical has been traditionally strong in large hospitals and clinics.
Holter Monitor Technology
Phillips offers advanced technology for both their Holter Monitor devices as well as the analysis software. The older Digi-Trak Holter monitor is now replaced with a small, slim ePatch device that is flexible in function. The Phillips ePatch offers 3 different configurations for diverse monitoring options. There is the single channel ePatch, the Flex single channel with 1 lead and the 3 lead / 2 channel version for shorter monitoring durations of 1-5 days. The Phillips Holter device has a proven track record of durability, reliably with the newest model ePatch being water resistant.
The Phillips Medical Holter Monitoring analysis software is the only Holter solution to offer the clinical advantages of the EASI Lead system. Five EASI electrodes capture three channels of derived 12-Lead ECG, giving you fast access to the highest quality patient data.
Accreditations
Phillips Medical Holter Monitoring devices carry the high ticket badges of accreditation that you would expect from one of the worlds largest medical device companies. These include CE and FDA certifications of safety for all of their products and CMS approved Independent Diagnostic Testing Facility (IDTF) for their laboratory services.
