BioTelemetry Acquires Biomedical Systems Service Division
March 20, 2014
Biotelemetry (CardioNet) acquired the cardiac patient services business of Biomedical Systems on March 20th for $8.65 million. This represents another significant move by the Biotelemetry family to expand their services for Holter Monitoring, Mobile Cardiac Telemetry and Cardiac Event Monitoring.
Biomedical was a good candidate to add to CardioNet as Biomedical is a large and well respected name in ambulatory ECG monitoring since 1975. The Biomedical recording devices will seamlessly integrate with CardioNet Holter, Event and Mobile Cardiac Telemetry analysis platforms.
Biotelemetry went on to annouce the strategic fit for some upcoming plans to expand their markets into international markets such as Europe with the launch of their CardioKey 14 day Holter. analysis software works seamlessly with the full line of BioTelemetry Holter recorders, including the recently FDA-cleared 14-day Holter, CardioKey.
The acquisition is a good fit for Biomedical Systems as they are moving towards an even greater emphasis on its core business of worldwide clinical research trials.
