LifeWatch Partners with HealthPatch for Wireless Monitoring
LifeWatch AG announced today that it has entered into an agreement with silicon valley start up Vital Connect Inc. for use of their wireless ECG monitoring patch called the HealthPatch(R) MD.
LifeWatch and Vital Connect plan to integrate the HealthPatch MD into LifeWatch’s mobile cardiac monitoring devices as a wireless application as compared to the traditional ECG leads. LifeWatch plans to incorporate the wireless patch technology with their existing analytic & reporting systems. The new technology is set for release in the first part of 2015.
As a world leader in ambulatory cardiac monitoring, LifeWatch sees the wireless patch technology as an important component in their product & service offerings. The wireless patch technology is known to enhance patient compliance for long term cardiac monitoring.
Vital Connect’s HealthPatch MD biosensor received FDA clearance for cardiac monitoring in home use in July of this year. The HealthPatch MD sensor weighs only 10 grams and only 6 mm in thickness (.24″). Vital Connect sees their new device as ‘more comfortable and less obtrusive monitoring solution’ in comparison to traditional ECG leads with wires connecting to disposable electrodes.
